Not sure if you mean maximum monthly benefit or if there is a dollar cap on payments. There is no cap that I'm aware of so go ahead and live to 100 years of age. The current maximum monthly payment is about 2.5 K.
I'll be collecting as late as possible. 70 would work nicely for me and allow me to opt in on extra income with impunity. The man started collecting at 64 and it's been stressful at times watching him struggle to pay his share of the bills.
