I never thought SS would be around when I got old enough.
What would lead you to believe that?
I have no idea other than over the years hear what bad shape SS is in so socked away our own money. Wife and I used to talk about how mad we would be if we died before we had a chance to spend any of it or if they cut back.
Watching many years of our co-workers doing fancy vacations and driving new cars. And here we are still driving cars with round headlights, almost back in style. Keeping an eye out in rear view mirror, for the car crusher following us around:). Now the last couple of years, wife got almost brand new trailer and she wants to replace our older 2001 Dodge pick up with a new one. Don't know if I can spend $60,000 on new truck and not have a heart attack.
Which by the way wife had a heart attack last month. 2 days later back home with a stint put in. Maybe its time to spend some money? Last time at the bank they said they still room for more, but maybe I don't have to fill it up all the way:)
