As posted earlier, you have to make a "reasonable" effort to return it. You should remove it from the road in the need to remove debris(litter) from the right of way. You would then look up and call the owner as printed on the side of crate. The owner will then have the option to reclaim the property by retrieving, providing a location to drop off, or pay your cost in returning said property. Most likely they will tell you to keep it. You then record time,date and person. You have now satisfied, environmental,moral, ethical and legal responsibilities. Now use it in good conscience.:)
