DutchmanSport - it's OK, you brought this from a "silly thread about nothing" to a philosophical discussion (are you really Jerry Seinfeld?).
I would add that if making a simple phone call about something as "unimportant" as a milk crate is too much effort to do the right thing, then how are you going to manage doing the right thing when you're faced with a bigger decision with greater ramifications.
I was listening to an interview with a man who seeks out rejection two or three times weekly, so he won't be overcome when it happens in his life in an important matter. I find I do the same with my morals - I practice them on little things so that I will be better able to handle the big things.
