The OP is probably a customer of the local soda distributer.
For the life of me, I can't understand why anyone dares drink soda anymore. The number of chemicals found in any of the typical soft drinks is staggering. Everytime I see someone drink soda, all I see is someone pouring a bottle of cancer and diabetes down their throat.
Regarding the crate, though, I have a simple solution. Being a businessman, we used to have random vendors send us misc supplies like safety glasses, safety vests, ink/toner, odd-ball office supplies (doesn't happen so much anymore). They'd never include any information as to where it came from or who ordered it. Sometime later, we'd get an invoice from a company noting the materials that were delivered and the amount due. We never paid those invoices because we didn't order it in the first place. Then they'd start calling our office and threaten liens and whatever else because the invoices were past due. So what we always did...and what would work here as well...we'd send them a fax/email telling them to provide us with a shipping label and we'd return it, or they could come pick it up. And if they chose not to, we'd consider it a free gift and maintain possession. In the end, nothing ever happened.
