Years ago we were camping in a huge group and a buddy set up a windmill to power his rig as a goof. It was huge and pretty dangerous, so we gave him plenty of room. He was fussing with it the whole time because it was drawing power from the batteries instead of feeding them. I didn't get involved with his problem, but it seemed to me like something was wired backwards.
We never let him live it down. :B
