Somehow got sediment in the fresh water tank

Out of the kitchen faucit, the water contains little black and clear specks. They are tiny but visible in the light and it's making me paranoid. Not a lot but maybe 10 specs in a 6oz cup. I don't know how this happened because I run a camco filter on a new hose. Will a simple drain and refill be enough to fix this? My last fillup was at a cabellas dump station out of what I though was a pottable spigot (not the flexable one right next to dump hole but the one maybe 10 feet before it). The water taste okay and smells okay, but just has little specs of dirt or scale in it.

  • I ran the spigot for about a minute before attatching hose and again before filling tank to flush the hose. I sanitized and rinsed with clorox 3x about 4 months ago and have only filled from the camco filtered hose. Could the blue filter have failed dumping all the crud into the tank?
  • How old is that Camco Blue Filter?

Did you flush that filter before placing it in service?

I use mine for 4 month and replace.

BUT I always flush CG water thru it before connecting hose to rig.
Many times black will flow out during flush..carbon from filter.

Have you removed faucet aerator and cleaned it.
Lots of times the calcium/magnesium it water will plate out and then flack off during use

    Drain/flush fresh water tank
With an inlet filter and a strainer on pump suction......getting debris in system is rare.
More than likely just minerals showing up
  • when you filled up at Cabelas, did you run the water a little bit before connecting your hose? If not, you may have gotten a little bit of dirt in the tank from that....
  • be careful, some mold comes out looking like that. I would add water and clorox to the tank and let it set for a while then flush it out a few times or until you no longer smell the mix, in fact run the mix through all your pipes while you are at it
