- RAS43Explorer IIIBeen to an IKEA once, not our cup of tea. Huge store with lots of stuff but nothing that interested us to warrant the 12 mile drive and crowded area and store. Better stores close by.
- jjjandrbakerExplorerIKEA is a huge store full of household goods from Sweden. They sell a lot of stuff at fairly low prices. You wander around looking at everything like an adventure. I took my son there to get a couch/bed combo for his first apartment. As you walk around, you end up throwing things like $5 lamps in your cart. They have a restaurant hidden somewhere in the middle of the Austin store. I have not been to it, but friends seem to like it. I have not been to the new San Antonio store. Unlike Buccee's, Cabella's, or Bass Pro, there isn't enough there to keep me coming back. But, if you need something they have, it is a good place to get it.
- K_CharlesExplorerI have never seen an IKEA store but I just sent to there web site. They have movie night and karaoke night in there restaurant. What is it? What do they sell, food, takeout?

What have you got against them?
proud to say we’ve never set one foot inside. - JAC1982ExplorerHmmm. A lot of our RV stuff was stuff that came from our previous homes (before we got together so we had duplicates), and some of that stuff was Ikea. But I don't remember which is which... a lot of kitchen stuff.
I have a small cookie sheet from there that fits nicely in the little oven and also doubles as a tray. As already mentioned, dish towels. I use their dish towels in my house too (the white ones with blue stripes or red stripes). Clippy things to close up chip bags and bags. Ummm... maybe the bath mat is from there? Plastic storage containers. I think we have a little basic tool kit from there too. It's all normal stuff really and it all works fine for its intended use. - rk911Explorerproud to say we’ve never set one foot inside.
- Cloud_DancerExplorer IIIf I need it and if I can afford it and I find it,.... I buy it.
IMO going to IKEA is like taking a hike. It takes too long to go look around. - crazyroExplorer

I love their cinnamon buns, mmm... :) They don't seem to make it out to the TT in time tho. :(
Hahaha - jjjandrbakerExplorerI bought a $2 squeegee for the shower, three $1 dish towels for the galley, and a $3 plastic serving tray that I use to set my drink and popcorn on when I am lounging on the bed watching movies before going to bed.
The squeegee does a great job of drying off the shower. The dish towels are super absorbent and do a great job of drying the dishes. The serving tray provides a great surface for my drink. As a bonus, the one time I knocked over my glass of Merlot, all of the wine was trapped on the tray. I poured it in the sink and rinsed off the tray without ruining the comforter on my bed.
Personally, I find IKEA to be a fun place to find cheap little things like lamps, shelves, etc. It is a great place for outfitting a dorm room or first apartment. Not the kind of stuff I would want to put in my home. - Ski_Pro_3ExplorerA very small stainless steel trash can with a flip lid that works with a foot pedal. We use it in the bathroom for items that can't be flushed.
Various cooking utensils, drawer dividers and runner rug.
