Now those are some good stories !! If ever I am in need I hope you just happen to be near by. I've known people that drove around in 4X4 high before when the rear differential went out. Can't be good for the transfer case but, you do what you have to do.

Our coach converter included extra parts:

-All engine belts (there are a lot as we have four alternators along with the big serpentine belt)
-A complete selection of fuses
-Volt tester
-Extra interior light bulbs
-Bottle jack and tool
-Extra shore power cord that connects at a different location
-Extra electrical attachments (50 to 30 amp connector, cheater double 30 amp connector)
-Air hose
-Trailer hitch insert

I do need to carry extra fuel filters, I will have to get those. I carried two extra filters with the other coach for 7.5 yrs. and never needed them (famous last words, right?).

I also carry:
-Antifreeze
-Engine oil
-All the incidentals...WD40, gorilla tape, duct tape, general tools, caulking, etc.

I'm getting to old to carry much besides fuses, lamps(light bulbs in today's world), three pex fittings, water and stinky slinky washers and/or "O" rings, WD 40, Kwikee lube in a can, lots of bar rags,wiper blades and mostly multipurpose tools like 6 in 1 screwdriver, Leatherman tool and of course the world famous SAE/Metric Spanner.

Specific function tools like a 7/16" combo wrench for the F connectors on TV cables, my curved jaw Channelocks for hose fittings and my trusty old 6" long tire pressure gauge. Those three sit on my gloves next to the door inside the rig.

When I sold the old motorhome I threw in all the spare parts that were P30 specific that I had collected over the years: extra exhaust manifold gasket, rotor cap, button and wires, new belts, spare PCV valve, etc..

I guess what you need to carry or want to carry for spares has much to do with your camping style. The weekend warrior not travelling far from home does not need much. The vacationer never travelling far from a major city does not need much more. The long distance traveller venturing far from cities with all the big box stores & the fulltimer without a sticks & bricks needs to be much more self reliant.

YUP! we carry basic stuff as all but after that, we find the help and pay for it or buy the fix if needed :W
