Spring is tiptoing into our life

Yes, indeed! After last weeks record snow fall just east of us in Wisconsin it reached temps into the 60's. Today we might see 70°F. More and more of our lawn is now visible. Too bad we had to cancel our camp out last weekend due to snow and freezing rain. Thunderstorms are forecasted for tomorrow. That should melt most of the remaining snow. Too bad many of the local lakes are still frozen over for the fishing opener.

  • Yep, it is spring in Buena Vista, Colorado. Had a huge, wet heavy snow this morning at 8200 feet. Snowflakes were the size of a half dollar and made an audible splat when they hit the ground. This snow equaled .61" of rain. Geez, we only get 1.07" in an average May!
  • April was "spring snow like" for us...4 weeks of snow that flowed on into early May. But, finally the grass is greening up, the temps are getting mild and the much needed moisture from April's snow is making us all smile a bit.

And of course spring means work...fences to mend, all the newborn calves to work, and pray rain comes to continue making up for 2 years of exceptional drought.
  • Somewhat better down her in Texas Panhandle. We do have crazy weather. However; we need to pull out May 22nd to get our spot in Colorado. Will be good to get going again. Good luck up there.
  • I guess you missed your chance the weekend before last.

We were able to head 120 miles south to Clear Lake S.P. in Iowa. We had 65 to 79F weather from Friday morning until heading home Monday afternoon. Only rain was Monday morning (between 2 and 5 am). Beautiful weather.

Last weekend too much snow between us and them. :(:?

We will be heading back there Thursday around noon for until next Monday PM. :C:B
  • Crazy stuff, huh? Ice out was last Thursday in central MN! Yay!!
