Steering sometimes a bit light

I'm towing using the E2 Trunnion style WDH. At around 55-60 mph the steering gets a little light. Slower it's ok and faster it's ok.. other than avoiding the 55-60 mph range altogether - any suggestions?

Thanks!
  • WD seems good. Is the trailer nose high when hitched? Should be level or just a bit lower that the rear.
  • What kind of tires do you have? Are you running original shocks? Checked ball joints and tie rods?
  • Your FWW is back to original so thats spot on. You're trucks level so thats good.
How is the TT for level or parallel to the ground?
Whats your tire PSI on the TT and truck?
Other than maybe the short WB of the truck everything looks good to me.
  • You need to transfer more weight foreword. Your towing nose high.
  • Thanks for the responses! Here's a bunch more info:

    WD/anti sway HITCH:

TRAILER HITCHED WITH WD BARS IN PLACE-FWW=36 1/4" RWW=36 5/8"
  • Sounds like you need to transfer more weight to the front end of the TV. Measure front end height at the wheel well both hitched and unhitched. The difference should be minimal, like a half inch or less.

You need a front spoiler on your tow vehicle. The faster you go the more down force to the front end.
Or possibly one at the rear. Is the front of the TV getting lighter because the front of the trailer is seeing more down force?
  • You need a front spoiler on your tow vehicle. The faster you go the more down force to the front end.
  • Need more information and weights. I would immediately guess that your unloading the front end when hitched.
