I wasn't suggesting or intending to imply that it would be the only earth ground connection.
In the case of voltage induced into the frame by a nearby HV transmission line when you are NOT connected to any other ground, that might be your only solution......other than moving.
But I lived a lot of years very near to HV lines and never saw that happen. The logical explanation for that problem might not be the real one.
