Several years ago,Pennsylvania had a major snow storm on Valentines Day.The state's response was pathetic.People were trapped on the interstate for days.It wasn't the government that came to the rescue,it was private citizens on snowmobiles who delivered food and drink to those stranded. WE spend billions of dollars on emergency management plans so it makes no sense why a state or the feds can't make contingency plans for snow and ice storms. From what I heard, the biggest mistake in the Atlanta area was closing schools, businesses and government offices at the same time creating a massive traffic jam. That could have bee aleviated by staggering closing times.
