I purchased a ($47.00) larger plastic door and installed it. It has a small swing cover for when the cord isn't out the door. Also, have been trying a small PVC pipe with a notch in one end to loop the cord on and push a full length loop into the opening (hopefully that's understandable). Both work better then the stock set up.
