Like the OP I have just a tiny storage compartment for the power cord. Maybe 8in wide X 10in deep and it has the square socket to plug the cord into for the gen to run the coach. So the cord has to get wound up very carefully to leave the center of the coiled cord enough room to plug the cord in so I can use the gen.
Then only one other outside storage compartment and that thing is packed solid, so wouldn't have room to put a coiled up 25ft power cord.
So I just take my time and slowly coil the cord up inside the cubby hole and then plug it in encase we need to run the gen...
My Coachmen 220RK had a small storage space with a small door, with an even smaller door/opening for the power cord with the outlet in there to connect to, for power from the generator, since there was no ATS. It was at a convenient height, so I never bothered changing it. The current (pictured) one, I found way too inconvenient, so I added an ATS, as well as an EMS, since I had plenty of room and I wanted them. :B
