surge guard protectors
Thinking of buying a surge guard protector. Just wondering which brand to buy. What kind do you use and what, if any problems have you had with it?

Bought the portable 50amp SurgeGuard about three years ago, paid nearly $400. In just under two years, it went belly up. The customer service folks at Surgeguard said the device is not repairable, and is a throwaway item. Pretty expensive throwaway item in my opinion. However, bought another SurgeGuard (slow learner, I guess), this one permanently installed, IIRC, about $250. Had it installed just prior to this trip which started July 21st. It has tripped once at two different campgrounds so far. Should have done some research before this purchase - would have gone with the device with the life-time guarantee.
