This is my 5th camper, 1 pop-up, 3 TT's, and now a 5er. In all my campers, I've always lit the oven pilot light by hold the oven knob to the on position, waiting a few seconds, then igniting a fire...

Except, of course, the obvious downside of having to replace batteries every once in a while or worse scrape corrosion out if you don't use it for a while and the battery rots. I'm fine with clack-clack ones.
