Online. Phone call is a last-ditch effort.

Most of the time, we reserve online. I just had a case where the cost online was very high so I called them and they quoted me a little over half the web price. Strange.

We reserve sites in advance based on how far we want to drive each day. We are planners.

90% on the phone. I normally have a couple of questions I want to ask about the park. I remember, about a month ago, I was starting to reserve a park in OK city online, then called. Good thing - the day before the park was obliterated by a tornado - but their online reservation system was still working.

On the road, we starting looking for a place to park, we call camps along our route and give them our eta. Haven't missed yet. Our planned base camps we call ahead a time and reserve them for the time we will be parking there.

90% on line, 10% phone. Never go by the seat of our pants.

We only RESERVE a couple of sites where we are meeting with family. The rest is just drop the trailer tongue whereever it stops rolling..

Two years ago we pulled into Minneapolis without a reservation and found ALL of the campgrounds full. Had to drive 90 miles south to find a spot. Peace of mind to have a res.
