Surviving the cold without heat and without winterizing

I'm headed up to Colorado this weekend and will be spending the week in a hotel. That means I don't need to pay for an RV park with hookups, I can just leave it at some storage place. Yay! However...

Yes, basically the assumption is wrong. When water freezes, it will expand in all directions meaning it will expand out against the sides of the pipe also and most likely putting a split in the pipe. I've repaired a few freeze ups. It will not just expand in the direction of least resistance.
