If the trailer is swaying, it's not that you "feel" unsafe...
You ***ARE*** unsafe!!!
This is one of those few cases where it's not mostly a comfort issue. Unchecked sway will amplify with each oscillation, and sooner or later the trailer will yank your truck, you, and your wife off the road and into the ditch. Probably upside down and backwards.
Driving with a trailer with sway is like flying a tail-heavy airplane. In fact the same thing is trying to happen in both cases; the back end is trying to become the front end. As a pilot, you know how dangerous a tail-heavy airplane is. You wouldn't knowingly get into a tail-heavy airplane and fly it across the country.
