Tahoe 3.42 axle 5.3 Vortex and 5,000 lb Jay Flight 26BH

I'm picking up the trailer on Saturday and will be towing it with the Tahoe and a 6,200 lb rating. Although I wanted to be closer to 4,500 on the dry weight, I'm not concerned with the Jayco Jay Flig...

Most 1/2 ton's hitches are rated for 5000lbs, 500lbs tongue weight, and anything higher requires weight distribution. I had towed a 4000lbs TT with my 1/2 ton silverado, and used an Equalizer brand W/D setup, since it incorporates sway control.

Do you NEED W/D for that setup? Need is a strong word, but I think most here would recommend. Sway control IMHO is required.

edit: Remember, you can easily add 1000lbs just from propane, gear, etc into the trailer. So don't forget you will be heavier once loaded.
