- steve-n-vickiExplorerHe was running 45 mph at the time , the right side trailer tires dropped off the pavement, resulting in the tow vehicle being moved over to the right, the driver attempted to get it back on the road , and ended up swerving into the oncoming lane, and it came around and ended up in the position you see, no weight distribution , no trailer brakes and to top it off the loader was about the center of the trailer and not chained down, it slid forward during the off road excursion , the trailer is 10,000 GVWR

x2. The gussets on the loader arm means it's not one of the smaller ones. So without any other info, that load was beyond the rating of that Tahoe. Did that cause the accident? Maybe, maybe not. - SoCalDesertRid1Explorer IIIt is impossible to make any conclusions as to what the cause of the accident was, based solely on the one picture we have available, and no other information. It is pointless to speculate, with this little information.
- DutchmenSportExplorerMy new signature line says it all:
You really need to think in terms of what is the ultimate extreme usage you'll be experiencing with your truck, not what is the lightest usage and hope it's OK when the extreme happens.
"Truck" could be substituted for tow vehicle. - rockhillmanorExplorer IIHere we go again... Yes, the Tahoe can PULL up to 6,000 lbs. But it can NOT TOW it safely down the highway with all that goes with highway driving.
Been there, done that, own one, and tried it, with 'half' that weight.
SHORT wheelbase = Tail wagging the dog.
Anything goes wrong and a short wheel based TV doesn't have a chance in hell of correcting it safely.
After my experience towing a TT with one I retired the Tahoe to just getting groceries.
AND Towing a skid steer with a Tahoe? He was SO overweight to begin with it was an accident waiting to happen, Oh, wait, ya, it DID happen. :W:B - ChooChooMan74ExplorerThe SMALLEST CAT Skid steer is 5700lbs, according to the CAT website. Is that the smallest? I am not an expert. But, add the trailer to the mix, you are probably closing in on 7000lbs easily.

- Sinton4616ExplorerThat's not good. Tahoe should be able to handle 5,200 lbs or so. Agree on a bad setup.
