Tankless Water Heater - does it waste water?
Thinking about getting a tankless (Girard?) and the tech we spoke to said that it wastes about 2 gallons of water just by turning on the hot water to get it hot, and that once it cools down, it wastes...

As Trackrig says, the 'warm up water' is exactly the same amount, whether you have a tank or tankless heater. If it's really two gallons for your rig, you might want to put whatever heater you buy closer to the sink.
That tech just didn't want you to buy a tankless. Maybe they make less profit on them.
