If you have a full hook up do you leave tanks open or close. Hubby said I am wrong I say both should be closed till full for persuit to empty need to win this one. I really think I am right, help me out
When I am in an RV park where my sewer connection is located near my neighbor's outdoor living area, I only bring out the slinky when I dump. And I put it away until the next dump. I also do my dump when those same neighbors are nowhere to be found. Sitting around the RV site with my neighbor's sewer hose in a plain, close visual, is not what I call enjoyable, especially if liquid leak drips are present....
Never, ever let the black tank go dry. Keep it closed till it needs to be emptied. Once I empty mine ours I put in a couple of gallons of water to keep it from drying out.
I leave both closed and empty as needed. Usually can run 3 to 5 days on grey and 8 to 10 on black. Do not leave your black tank valve opened as stated above or you will be in deep poopoo before you know it. Claim your prize you've won the bet.
You can keep the grey open but you need to keep the black closed so you get enough liquid in there to flush everything out. If you leave the blank valve open, you will get a dry mound of solids that will be hard to get out.
