I don't buy into any of that drivel.
Far as RV's go, just look inside. Almost all the components or at least part of the components come from, you guessed it...China.
Even that Fantastic roof fan... Chinese motor, Chinese electric components.
Remarked to our family doctor the other day..'About the only thing we make here anymore is babies and those are delivered with imported medical tools.
Things need to change, but to effect that change will take some hurt on the part of the American consumer.
Yes it will put some hurt on the American consumer, but the whole point is that it's suppose to put much more hurt on China etc. China is already in recession, so who is going to blink first? I'm willing to be patient, but a 12 billion bailout of American farmers seems like a blink to me. The whole thing seems like it's just going to hurt everybody. To see how it will all shake out might take years. I don't profess to understand any of it.
China is not in a recession. Their economy grew at 6%+ last quarter on a year over year basis. Not sure where you get your info but it is wrong.
As for tariffs, overall they are a negative when used in broad strokes. Jobs aren't in China because of 10% or 25% pricing. That is where the logic of all this fails.
So very true. And China just shifted sourcing of soy and kidney beans from Brazil. While we in turn gets higher prices for aluminum and steel in add-on tariffs for steel and aluminum from Canada, China and even domestically.
This seems not to be a winning proposition for us US consumers.
