If there is ultimately a positive side to the tariffs that positive side will be much harder to measure, demonstrate, explain and will probably take some time to develop. Exactly, the tariffs are easy to put a percentage or dollar amount in a news blurb.
The cost of allowing unfair trade practices is much harder to define as it happens gradually and there isn't a fixed percentage defined.
For all we know, we already pay far more because China has driven our steel industry into the ground and then gradually raised prices.
As far as $5k extra for an F150...not buying it. The raw metal isn't that expensive.
As far as Winnebago, also not buying it as there hasn't been time for it to impact them. Most likely they are just using this as justification to increase their prices.
