You do realize, these are fungible products?
- Presumably they were not buying from Brazil because Brazilian prices were higher. Most likely due to higher shipping costs.
- Whoever was buying from Brazil still wants to buy beans but if Brazil is selling to China, someone else...like the USA...will supply those beans.
Yes, there will be some short term turbulence but after the first year, there should be no significant impact other than China likely will pay a bit more since they aren't buying from the cheapest source.
