The comforting thing about Harley laid off employees is that they will have many openings for jobs elsewhere - meaning the 3.8 unemployment rate. Baby boomers aren't running out to buy Harleys (age related), but are buying RV's.
I'm really happy that I purchased my new RV before tariff (BT). It is advertised as having "American sourced steel & aluminum." Oh, after owning it for a month, I have not noticed the frame flexing that I witnessed with the foreign made steel in the previous RV.
On a patriotic note (hopefully it won't get moderated), years ago, we went to the Cape for a night Shuttle launch. There were a few hundred other folks there also. It was magic! The light, the power, the sound, the actual shaking of our bodies by the vibrations. After the Shuttle was just a spot of light and all was dead quiet, a voice boomed out of the darkness that said "God Bless America!" A cheer went up by all.
Maybe we need a bit more pride in our country.
