If China starts buying from Brazil...where do you think India will get soybeans from?
Which begs the question; why doesn't China and India grow their own soybeans? It must be cheaper to buy them from somewhere else. Given the cost of living and working land in the US vs. those 2 places, how can that be?
I have had several Indian friends over the years and I recall them saying that their parents would buy their luxury cars here and ship them back to India. I wondered why they would do that and pay the shipping when they can just buy a Mercedes in India shipped by rail from Germany. The answer was that the tariffs on imported cars was so high that it was cheaper buy a round trip ticket from Mumbai, buy a high end Mercedes, crate and ship it to India and pay the import fees.
I classify that as lunacy.
