Those services do exist but they are not free.
You pay and usually have to sign up thus giving away a bit of your personal info.
I've never paid for whitepages.com.
When I try white pages it wants me to register and pay. What am I doing wrong?
I don't know. What area are you in? Maybe that's the problem? I have used it for years in central Pennsylvania and have never been asked to register or pay.
There are some ads on the site but, I don't get pop ups or any other junk. To me, it's FREE.
That's what has me wondering. Maybe the op and I have the same problem. You have me wondering what else could cause this? pop up blockers? Do not call registry? I have tried all this before when I'm ticked at all the spammers and I always end up with pay for results. Hummm
I asked my son in Texas and he say he cant find names or numbers. Always want him to pay. - azrvingExplorer

I look up telephone numbers AND names to get telephone numbers everyday for free. Sometimes I format the number this way: (222) 222-2222 and sometimes I format it this way: 222-222-2222.
The more info you input when searching for someone's telephone number the narrower the search.
Could you please share a link? I have tried a few different ones and they wont give a name. I just tried my number in whitepages and it shows the general area of the area code. If I click on the hi lighted part that says find owners name, it then wants me to register and pay.
I just tried spokeo again and it will bring up my name and a city I used to live in but it wants $4.95 for my number.
I just tried my number in intelus and it wants .95 :) - gboppExplorer

"Owner's name hidden by Whitepages for privacy reasons" - RoyBExplorer III got everything on my search to WHITEPAGES.com Name address, phone number, and map of location ???? Also listed my wife's name as living here...
All I entered was my full telephone number...
This is where I went and selected PHONE and typed in my full phone number...
WHITEPAGES
Works for me using GOOGLE CHROME... Just now tried it again...
NOTE: I just tried a different phone number for a test and it gave me a map but said this... "Owner's name hidden by Whitepages for privacy reasons"
I guess some don't work unless you pay....

X2 on Whitepages.com... Anywho.com is another one I use here... Both free here... I am using google and Firefox here for browsers... I just tried my number on whitepages and it worked fine. Also gives you a map of the location...
The OP asked for two things....FREE and NAME. Any of them may give you a general area based on the area code but it seems that the OP wants to know WHO is calling him and he's asking if any of us know of a FREE one for FREE.:) Post a link so we can see which one will give us a name for free. Thank you
The one I go to isn't free, it has no name or address. It want $ to see a name. Maybe you have a better link. Again, maybe it's my computer or service but the suggested sites want ME to pay.
Inputting the telephone number alone can also tell you who is calling; depends on many variables. Again, for free. - NYCgrrlExplorerI look up telephone numbers AND names to get telephone numbers everyday for free.
