bukhrn - I lived in Detroit for 37 years, including working in downtown Detroit for an identical amount of time, and never once was a victim of a crime. In fact I was just recently in downtown Detroit on two occasions with my wife, at two different casinos. No problem.
You just do not go into the backstreet neighborhoods while driving a sparkling brand new car worth car jacking.
