We did an overnight at Los Banos/I-5 KOA and this rig was parked behind us. Note the cable for the Tesla parallel to the trailer. Two things are interesting, first a Tesla S pulling a Trailmanor and two the cord from the pedestal to the Tesla is smaller than the cable to the trailer. There is no dog bone so I can only guess it is plugged in to the 20 amp CB.The rig came in after we did and we did not notice it until the next morning. We left early and never saw the owner. I have no idea about any of the specs but the campground is more than 250 miles from Torrance where the trailer had been loaded. There was a temporary parking permit for loading and unloading and it had been issued by the Torrance PD.

Very cool, thanks for sharing a bit of the future. The car's probably drawing 20A which would work overnight. I believe the yield with a full charge is equivalent to our 'old school gasoline tow vehicles'- due to mandate (350-400mi).

I'm no authority on Tesla but have noticed comments that they were replacing a lot of drive units. Some owners report multiple replacements. It seems that they have an 8 year warranty but perhaps towing could worsen the problem? He probably had to stop and charge somewhere along the way. I believe Torquelift sells an EV series of hitches.After working on various pieces of equipment that were using induction motors with 3 phase ac controllers I would caution anyone that is enjoying the quiet agressive feeling and smoothness of these cars that you are still putting x amount of torque through a set of drive gears.

I am just as impressed with how neat there site is set up. 30A cord laid nicely and coiled at the back of the trailer, no extra junk outside! Very clean and organized!And yes, this is in the future for sure, it’s still gonna take some convincing of the general public that EV’s are a good alternative.

Model X is fairly heavy with GVWR over 6000 and is very stable with a low center of gravity. Air suspension to keep it level. Range would be the primary issue although with a low profile trailer I assume Model X gets close to 75% of normal range. Probably about the same as my truck at 180 miles.
