Testing Drinking Water

Does anyone know where I can find Test strips to check my incoming water for bacteria? I want to do the Bleach gig to my lines but really want to check the water afterwards.

  • Personally, I never trust my RV tank water for drinking. Some CG water can be sketchy, too. We always carry bottled water for drinking, use the tank water only for non-consumption purpose. Campgrounds on municipal water are probably OK but flush the lines a little before drinking any...

I am not aware of any BACTERIA test strips, that takes a microscope.. Chemicals can be tested for with strips however.. I'm more worried about chemicals these days. Had it not been for a blown engine (Disaster) I'd have returned to the Flint, Michigan area just in time to drink the poison (MAJOR DISASTER) making me feel kind of like the guy in the story who ask GOD why he was having such a bad day.

    God replied:
Your car not starting up in the morning meant you did not get to that intersection where the truck ran the stop sign in time to get run over

The battery dying on your phone meant the caller could not record you, edit it and present false witness.

And so on for all the minor disasters he'd had that day.
  • 1/4 cub bleach per 15 gallons of water.......use that mixture ratio and it will completely sanitize your system.

    No test strips required.

But Home Depot has test kit.
  • Look Here

Just googled it, check Home Depot. Also, never had a problem with water before. A more effective solution might be an inline filter.
