The family is done.

After our last trip the family sat down and broke it to me that they are done Rving. I've been camping for 46 years and this probably is just ending one chapter and opening another. So it's time to sell. I tried Craig's List and got one semi interested hit and many scams that strung me along for a week until just stating that they'll buy it sight unseen. So I guess it's time to pay for a more legitimate site. Where do you look when searching for class A gassers? I'm thinking RV Trader but figured I ask here first.

Tell them you will miss them!!!!!!!!!!
  • While you list it on RV Trader, also park it somewhere near a busy road (we just put things we want to sell at the edge of our yard) with a big FOR SALE sign in it. Also hang a sign on the bulletin board at your local hardware store, etc.
  • Sold our previous unit via ebay. Took great pics and video. Couple bought it sight unseen (had a friend in the area verify in person) and paid to ship it to themselves.
  • I feel your pain, but as you say it's a chance to start another chapter. I owned boats for 21 years, then one day my wife and I looked at each other and said, "lets sell the boat and get an TT", we went with a dealer that does a lot of consignment sales, and it sold the first day. We got a trailer and we're enjoying camping, though at some point we're going to get some kind of small boat, we just miss really fresh salmon and crab too much.
  • I lean closer to RV Trader sites more than Scammer List (Craig)
I'm planning on putting my 5er up next year. Randu
  • Craigs list, RVtrader.org, RVT.net - they are all fine.

This is the worst time to to try to sell at any used camper at a decent price.

If you don't wish to keep it over the winter to hope to get a better price in spring, then price it near what a dealer would give you in trade. It will sell, and some dealers may just buy it and let it sit on their lot till spring.
