burningman, I drove semi's, (ask any driver of their effectiveness in snow or on ice, even with substantial weight over drivers),ridden in many duallies. Unless you have lots of weight over the drivers, they have little traction. Snow plows have literally tons of weight over the drivers. It's really simple math, if the weight is equal, the larger the surface area of tire contact, the less weight per square inch contact patch = less traction. memtb
