^Perty sure Ida was just offering up experience from both sides of the coin.
Just like some on here "couldn't imagine driving more than 200 miles per day" or others "wouldn't leave home without 2 types of roadside coverage", some of us use our trucks 12mo a year in 4 seasons and , get this.....NOT always towing a camper! Maybe pulling equipment trailer or cattle or toys, or maybe just a Sunday drive up the mountain in 18" of powder to hit the slopes.
Either way, people are free to take which situations apply to them and leave the rest for someone else.
Terryallen will never need 4wd. I wouldn't make it home some days without it. 2 different uses but all just as valid.
I get it there maybe other factors. My point is and Ida does say "I get that DRW tow and haul better". That's all we are here to discuss on the tow vehicles forum. All other points are kind of mute and do not apply to everyone.
We all have individual wants and needs from there. But towing is what this forum is about.
Those other factors may or may not apply and will vary greatly in terms of whom and how they impact each individual.
Don't buy a dually because: it won't squeeze down an alley on trash day, or climb Mount Everest in a blizzard, or make it through the bank's drive through on pay day are not universal enough for the group at large and thus have minimal impact for the group as a whole.
Often one ends up with the wrong tow vehicle because they bought a truck with something other than towing in mind.
The most comfortable truck is not often not the best towing truck.
It all becomes a matter of priorities.
If towing a large RV is your priority (14K loaded or so) The dually will always be more stable and perform better than a SRW.
If something other than towing is your priority, there is no point in discussing what's best/preferred/most capable on the tow vehicle forum.
