The New Set-Up

So, after a difficult decision to ditch our SUV and "start over" with an F150, we have now brought our TT out of storage mode, and we're raring to go! I towed it for the first time this morning, and everything was excellent! I loved hearing the power of that 5.0L Coyote engine as it dug into the hills. I think this is going to be great! I drove it about 50 miles in all, taking it to a nearby RV shop for a free NYS inspection and a general "going over" by the pros. The dashboard fuel gauge tells me that I averaged about 11 MPG during that time. I'm pleased with that. My self-installed Prodigy brake controlled operated flawlessly. The WDH seems to be well balanced.

We're heading out on our first camping trip of the season in a few days. I'm psyched!

  • Hi from another WNYer, I have a similar camping set up, and enjoy going camping.
Check out my profile for the upgrades I made to my truck.
I just upgraded the TT suspension with E-Z Flex Heavy Duty Rubber Suspension System by Dexter Axle, so I have no info results from that upgrade.
  • That should be a good matchup.

    Trailer:
    Dry Weight------4,023 lbs.
    Payload Capacity----1,833 lbs.

    So FULLY loaded 5,856#

    Time to go camping!!
  • "The dashboard fuel gauge tells me that I averaged about 11 MPG"

Sounds good! Happy camping. 11-12 mpg is about what I get too.
