The pounds you pack in you rig

I just got my TT weighed on the scales. With just me and the dog on the trip, our stuff including food is about 500 pounds. All tanks empty. There is more in the bed of the truck. That is trying to keep it light, if I boondock it that number is closer to 1100 due to the water. It's easy to take that nice lite 6500 pound TT and make your TV move close to 8000 up that hill. Just wondering how many pounds others pack in.

  • When I got my first trailer in 1996 I over packed. On one pass in CO I was down to 15 mph going up. When I got home I unloaded everything I did not use. Now I have a strong tow vehicle but I still travel light.
  • I am 2k lbs over my dry weight of 7100lbs. I have a lot of storage capacity, and we use it! my TT does have a 4000lb CCC.
  • Truck...7290#
    Trailer...13,830#
    Combined....21,120#

We FT..everything we own goes with us.
I keep telling the GF "1 bag in---2 bags OUT" :S
  • My actual tongue weight is about 987#.
Advertized light weight is 480 #
My actual axle weight is just over 5300# loaded .
Advertized light weight is 4257 #.
Trailer axle gvw is 7280# limit.
So 1550 # fully loaded with 56 gallons water , full propane , ready to go on an extended trip .
