Neither has Greg Gerber. According to him, the sky has been falling for 10 years. Just an old crank getting a lot of press for no reason other than he's just an old crank. - wildtoadExplorer IIIt’s an industry association! Their purpose is to help the industry. Any benefit to customers of the dealers is an accident.
- LwiddisExplorer IIRVIA needs new...intelligent...management that doesn’t post dumb things.
- NRALIFRExplorerWithout customers there would be no industry.

I like Gerber. All he basically does is round up RV and camping related stories and post them in one place then add the occasional editorial. He is good at scraping off the sugar coating that RV business.com, the mouth of the RVIA, applies to everything. He usually hits the nail right on the head, usually. - JIMNLINExplorer IIIDoing away with lemon laws or any law that mfg don't like is done through certain political type lawmakers especially in Oklahoma. Its their goal to make less rules for businesses to operate under. IMO most folks understand how the political culprits works regarding this issue.
This from MHBA home pages;
**The mission of the Modular Home Builders Association (formerly the Modular Building Systems Association) is to be the primary organization advancing the legislative and regulatory interests of the modular industry in the United States.**
... tells us what Gerber is saying is pretty much the norm for mfg to use their political clout with state and even Fed lawmakers as in the lemon law reversal debacle/etc.
I know the old MHMA (mobile home mfg association) was really strong on working/contributions with lawmakers favorable to changing rules/regs/laws to protect them selves while advertising like RVIA, "how they protect the consumer". - Campfire_TimeExplorerAnd this is surprising how? Every industry has it's lobbying arm to protect itself. Consumer rights and laws have been slowly weakened year after year.
