I guess I'm a greenie twit. I feel guilty about driving my one ton truck around as my daily driver. So I try to ride my bike to work when I can. My S&B house is pretty efficient, we're always lower on our usage than comparable houses. But I love the RV lifestyle. I try to justify it by comparing what a hotel uses, the waste a restaurant creates and if we're to travel to our destination worth by plane or car, I'm using about the same fuel as an airplane or less but certainly more than a car. I guess the solution would be to not travel, but I choose to make up for my carbon footprint in other ways.
Maybe when diesel is $5 or $10 per gallon, I'll have to come up with some other vacation plans.
I try to think in an Fleetwood Mac kinda way: don't stop thinking about tomorrow. I can still recall people literally killing each other over place in line for odd/even spots for a dollar(?) a gallon gas. Still wondering if those coming out and still in jail are thinking of the futility of their actions.
I'm not interested in bus sized Class "A"s or toy carrying 5th wheels for a variety of reasons with the most important prolly being I can no longer be bothered w/ that lifestyle lived where ever and I'm certainly not cleaning that much "stuff", LOL.
Maybe, if I wanted to end game F/T my mind would change.
I find a certain purity in van der Rohe's "less is more" ethos whether resource using or not. Of course the beauty of that thought is less resource using is the norm.
