I bought a 25 yr old MH. Dont think the energy used to build it counts, as, it was used, even if the MH just sat in a junk yard.
Plants also use oxygen in the
respiration cycle. The faster they grow, the more oxygen they will also use.
Given the alternative---no plants, we are a heck of a lot better off having as many as possible.
Congrats for participating in the best use of resources, the three "R's"----reduce, reuse, and recycle.
Edit: I've also got to give some thought to what Naio has said. There are reasons for the resistance to being environmentally sound on a personal level.
