On our original PI Surge Guard I could just secure it with a short piece of chain around the pedestal (the lid prevented it from being lifted up and off the top).
As noted if a thief wants it, color it gone but simple proactive steps like these increase your chances of hanging on to it by keeping the honest folks..... honest.
