Theft Protection

I did do a search on here, and found an old post talking about how to secure the surge protector, but it didn't have any photos. I'm a visual kind of person.

Can anyone show a photo of how they secure their surge protector/EMS, using a chain and lock?

Next, what about the DTV dish? How do we go about securing it and the tripod?

Thanks!!

  • I just take a light cable and tightly wrap it a few times around the upper and lower portion of the protector to the power post and pop a lock on it ...keeps an honest person honest

Most of us have found there is not much anything one can do for THIEF PROTECTION. If the thieves want it they are going to get it...

My surge protector is on the inside of my trailer not hanging at the shore power pedestal.

My satellite dish was always setup on the hard plastic folding bed cover when I was using one so that I would have to take it down and store it when we wanted to leave the site with the truck. We get our High Def TV now using the OTA BATWING pointing at the local towns these days. Quit bringing our home SAT ITEMS when the OTA NATL BROADCAST went digital a few years back.

All of my valuable property is stored OUT-OF-SIGHT when the trailer is left unattended. Anything of real value stays with me locked up in my truck.

The RV Trailers are all prone to being opened-up with just the simplest tools.

Locks and chains can all be cut in a few seconds with portable cutting tools... Nothing is truly safe...

I always thought if you made it too hard to steal they would just steal the whole trailer...

    Just my thoughts
