We were volunteer camp hosts in a state park in Idaho for three years. There are 10 or 12 different campgrounds around the lake and the volunteers spend half the summer in one unit and are moved to another one for the remainder of the summer.
We got to see a broad spectrum of people and heard about a lot more from the other volunteers and rangers. 99% of the campers are great but the 1% that isn't is pretty bad.
We had one occurrence of someone defecating on the floor next to a toilet. We think it was a guy that was mad because he had to pay a day use fee.
I don't know if it is a federal or state rule but the guy that was assigned to clean it up had to wear a haz mat suit and mask. The floor had to be sprayed with disinfectant also.
Pretty expensive procedure just because of a guy was mad about a $5 fee.
Because of that 1%, after three years I had enough and decided we would no longer volunteer.
