I recently installed motion sensor led porch lights. They flash a small led to let you know they are active. My neighbors thought it was an alarm system .

I'm sorry you got your stuff stolen OP :( We did have some of our small items stolen last year at our weekend concert. We have just started camping in our own space away from our normal group of three other RVs. We had never had anything stolen there (after 18 yrs of camping) but did when we used our other space. Lesson learned, we realized no one knew who belonged to that space, we were new to our neighbors and we will be more careful going forward.

Normal camping we take both our dogs and nothing gets past the German Shepherd Dog, so I'm hoping we won't have anything stolen from our sites.

A few years ago we had some people growing weed in a field near here, they kept putting dog food out to keep bears around. After the weed growers were busted, the MNR did not know what to do with the dozen bears hanging around waiting for dog food.... guard bears :(

I've been very lucky and never had anything stolen. That said I believe there is merit to your comment. If you have inexpensive items you don't lose much and less of a target. I hate thieves.

I've found that el cheapo $8 Styrofoam coolers work well enough for a weekend. Since coolers get dirty, if I need better than the cheapies, I'll just hit Wally World for a Coleman where if it gets lost/stolen/broken, it will be annoying but not a major hit to the pocketbook.

It's common inthe marinas I work to see Yeti coolers just sitting out on the swim platforms of boats held down with bungee cords or webbing straps. The owners get confident because the marinas have locked gates and are watched by security cameras. All of them are accessible 24/7 by boat, at night. I would not be that trusting.
The Yeti is a nice cooler, but it is worth what it cost? Not to me. The miracle of modern marketing, I suppose.

Why would anybody leave that expensive of a cooler left out? UNLOCKED?
