We have spent now almost two months on the road, stopping every 350 miles at different locations in Oregon, Idaho, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, an saw tons of things ...
If your on I-80 in in Nebraska an missed the archway you had to be blind, as must see it from the inside, same with the wildlife loop above Rock Springs Wyoming, wild horses, antelope, deer all around you ...
Tons of railroad museums, historical sites, all along I-80 an if you on I-90 a must see is Custer's last stand battle field out side of Billings Mt which is 5 miles long, granted it's not along I-80 but something to see off I-90 ...
We travel along about 65mph, yes we get passed allot by trucks an DP an TT but most are doing the speed limit of 70 or 75, we get 10mpg up to 12mpg pulling a 40ft 5th weighing about 13k on the flat land an 10mpg in the mountains ...
I have to say on a two week vacation you can not stop and see the rose's so saying there is nothing in Nebraska, Iowa, etc you have to slow down an you will see more than you think ...
I hope the next time your out on vacation you take a month or so and slow down an see how great the heartland of America really is an all the great sites there is along the way, get off the interstates an go the back roads :)
Do what we do, pick a campground around a area, spend a few days exploring the area, you will be surprised at what you will find ...
