I saw nothing disrespectful in your original post. You are still a working guy (and I think you for continuing to contribute to my Social Security. :))
I was once in your position also. Didn't have an RV but drove out to Colorado from Virginia with the family to visit my sister in law. Had to take the interstates, including I-70 across Kansas and eastern Colorado. You are right. There is nothing to see. Actually, for a guy from Virginia, the plains were interesting to see, for a while. But fairly soon, it became mind numbing.
In the future, however, after you either get fabulously wealthy, or you can retire, you will be able to get off the superslabs, and onto the backroads. Then a lot more of America opens up.
That said, western Kansas and eastern Colorado still have a lot of distance between interesting things to see, even on the back roads.

Ok. Looks like I upset some people. Sorry, but Nebraska and Iowa along with eastern Colorado have nothing in the entire Rocky Mountain Region! Being from IL I can tell you I was just watching the 1/10 miles on the dashboard click by. This is not intended to be a slam against these states just things I noticed. Yes if I were taking secondary roads I may have run across something to see, but my time line for travel doesn't allow that yet.
Sorry folks. I meant no disrespect!
