Many years (and 1 RV) ago, I was staying at Fishing Bridge in Yellowstone when a storm came through, including hail. Although the hail wasn't big, that was as big a racket as I have ever heard; I thought the roof was going to crash down on us (no damage or dents, just a lot of noise). The dogs were terrified. I can't imagine what it would have been like if the roof had been aluminum instead of fiberglass.
Last summer we were staying in Colorado Springs when they had the huge hail storm and flooding. It hailed marble to golf ball size hail for an hour on us while we were in our 5er. That was a horrible noise. We did lose the bathroom vent but that was the only damage.
