I would only consider it "tacky" to put it on your actual house. Having one on the camper seems rather appropriate and just plain fun. I'm looking forward to filling it up, hopefully we'll get about 3 states per year.
We haven't really prohibited each other from buying anything yet for the camper. We're both pretty reasonable about it.
I put mine on a sheet of plexiglass so I can move it to another RV.
