This cost of government bureaucracy!

I agree with the OP.Our government could learn alot from private enterprise,especially small business owners.As a small business owner and as someone who has served as a school board and borough council member and currently serve as mayor of our small town,there is so much******put in place by state and federal government that makes government at the local level function so slowly.Here's just one example:I became Chairman of the local water authority in January.We have a dam that was built in 1959.We were told 11 years ago that if we got 26" of rain in 24 hours,the dam could collapse.I told them if we got that much rain,no one would know the dam collapsed.We have been working for the past 10 years to get the Army Corps of Engineers and Pennsylvania DEP on the same page so we could proceed with removing the dam.They finally agreed we could proceed the end of last year.Now our engineers are drawing up the bid proposals to have the dam removed.10 years.Maybe 2 Rangers putting doggy bags in a box is a small thing,but it's just another example of government inefficiency.
